He leaves behind to cherish his memory, a son Aric (5 years); his daughters, Lyric (15 months) and Aiyana (2 months); and stepson, Dashawn (12), all at home; his “other half” of seven years, StevieJo Lewis; his mother, Paige Campbell; sister, Ryan Campbell; brother, Asa Campbell; and his grandmother, Norma Campbell, all of Cedar Rapids.
Also surviving are mother and father-in-law, Dallas and Twila Nissen; sister-in-law, Stefanie Nissen; and nephew, Jaydan Nissen; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins; and his special friends, Ski and TJ.
He was born March 1, 1983, in Chicago, the son of Paige Campbell. He moved to Cedar Rapids in December 2002, and was currently working at Taco John's.
Aaron's family meant the world to him, his children were the light of his life. He enjoyed all the time he spent with his kids, including trips to Adventure Land every summer, fairs, walks, splash pads, movies and watching cartoons with them. He loved taking things apart and putting them back together, cooking, grilling, playing video games with his son and friends, listening to music, working on his Chevy, watching football, basketball, funny movies and of course, Black Friday Shopping.
Aaron will be greatly missed by his family and all the people who truly got a chance to know him, but will be remembered daily as we look at his beautiful children he left behind.
The family would also like to sincerely thank the staff of the University of Iowa's MICU staff and resident doctors, neurologists, renal doctors, respiratory therapists, nurses, chaplain and social worker who took the time to care about Aaron's family and friends and took great care of Aaron for the last week of his life and made sure he left us comfortably and finally at peace.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Aaron's honor may be directed to the family for his children.
