Daugherty, Ethel M.
Ethel M. Daugherty, 94, of Marion, formerly of Marengo, died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Crestview Acres Nursing Home in Marion. Graveside Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at the Marengo Cemetery, Marengo. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.
Ethel is survived by her sons, Kenneth Daugherty and wife Ella of Marion, and George Daugherty Jr. and wife Sandra of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren, Angela Daugherty of Cedar Rapids, Sherry Daugherty of Houston, Texas, Patrick Daugherty of Denver, Colo., and Michael Daugherty of New Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1995; and two sons, Robert and John.
Ethel Mae Lewis was born Jan. 8, 1918, in Janesville, Iowa, the daughter of Luroy and Ethel Lewis. She married George W. Daugherty on Feb. 19, 1936 in Tama, Iowa. Ethel was a homemaker and mother. She also worked for several years at the Watts Nursing Home in Marengo.
