Xavier sends 15 to state math competition April 20

Xavier High School will send 15 students to a state math competition to be held in Iowa City on Saturday April 20, 2013. The students include: Ben Biggins, Grace Busse, Sarah Chicchelly, Noah Hagen, Grant Hunt, David Kirpes, Matthew Kirpes, Megan Korbel, Edward Krouse, James Krouse, Lucy Liu, Daniel Pape, Jacob Schmitt, Alex Tietz, and Bryce Volk.
The competition is hosted by the Great Plains Math League of mathleague.org, whose philosophy includes a belief that math contests are learning experiences that help develop students' problem solving skills. Students qualify throughout the school year at various events as part of Xavier's math club, moderated by Mrs. Barb Miltner.
