Bette Jean Turnipseed, 87, of Washington, Iowa, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at the United Presbyterian Home following a decline in health. Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 10, at the United Methodist Church in Washington, with Pastor Jim Stiles officiating. Calling hours will begin noon Wednesday at Jones & Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.
Memorials have been established for the United Methodist Church, United Presbyterian Home or Hospice of Washington County.

Bette is survived by son, Jon Turnipseed and wife Mary Jo of Boise, Idaho; daughter, Kaye Eck-hardt of North Lib-erty; daugh-ter, Connie Turnipseed of Kansas City, Mo.; grandsons, Eric Turnipseed and wife Cindy and Jay Turnipseed and wife Stephanie and families of California, Shawn Coons and wife Carrie and family of Indianapolis, Andrew Eckhardt and wife Lisa of Tiffin; granddaughter, Averi Jackson and husband Jonathan and family of Boise, Idaho; and nine great-grandchildren.
