A Sunbury family found a dog named Victor on their front porch with an arrow sticking out of his side on November 1.
Veterinarians said the arrow missed every vital organ and artery.
After surgery and six weeks of rehabilitation at Friends of the Animals in Tipton, Victor was adopted on Tuesday. A donor covered the costs of Victor's medical expenses.
According to Dee Shotwell, Vice President of Friends of the Animals, Victor received his name because because "he was victorious, he came through an ordeal." Victor has fully recovered from his injuries.
Victor, a Chihuahua, visits his former home, Friends of the Animals in Tipton, Cedar County's only animal shelter, on Wednesday, December 29, 2010. (Matt Nelson/The Gazette)
