Tell leaders you find dove hunting abhorrent

What do blood, feathers, cruelty and the total disregard for the voice of the majority have in common? It is bill SF83 - an act allowing the establishment of an open season for hunting mourning doves.
Yes, the ugly issue of shooting doves has been introduced again in the Legislature despite the overwhelming opposition to this abhorrent practice. It only takes viewing a wounded dove thrashing pitifully on the ground in a pool of blood and feathers to make one ill and shudder to think there are those among us who enjoy this inhumane practice.
There are so many more pressing issues our legislators should work on. So act now if you don't want doves to be shot in Iowa. You can find all the information you need to contact your legislators at www.legis.iowa.gov.
