COMMUNITY JOURNALISM: Starmont's Chelsea Berry hits for cycle
Retired teacher Jeff Barker offered us this photo - and story - about Chelsea Berry, who will be a senior at Starmont this fall.
Berry "completed a natural cycle in a softball game earlier this summer," Barker wrote. "She is, by the way, the same athlete who won the (Class) 1A state long jump title this spring."
Barker, who has written about sports in the Tama/Toldeo area as well as in and around Dundee and Strawberry Point, did some checking, too, and found out just 293 Major League Baseball players have hit for the cycle, just 13 "natural" in the majors.
