Man tasered after throwing chair at Iowa City officer
Police said an Iowa City man had to be tasered by police after throwing a chair at an officer.
Around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a residence on Broadway St. after two 911 hang up calls in which dispatch heard arguing and crying in the background.
Police arrested Wesley J. Carter, 24, at the home. Carter then threw a child's chair at an officer, hitting him in the shoulder, according to reports.
Officers Carter into a closet and forcefully opened the door, then tasered him and took him into custody.
Carter was charged with assault, and was being held in the Johnson County Jail Thursday morning.
