HAMES FOUNDER DIES — Curt Hames, co-founder of Hames Homes and an active Iowa Republican, died Sunday night. He was 92. Barbara Hames, his daughter, said her father was a 'walking encyclopedia of the manufactured home industry' and 'the most generous person I've ever known.' DOUBLE STANDARD AT MEYER TRIAL? — Several parents complained about University of Iowa Head Volleyball Coach Bond Shymansky, but despite the concerns, Shymansky kept his job — unlike Tracey Griesbaum, who was fired as field hockey coach Aug. 4, 2014, based on similar complaints from student-athletes and parents. This is according to testimony Monday in the trial of a lawsuit filed by Jane Meyer, former UI associate athletic director, against the university. NEW IOWA FOOTBALL COMMIT — Solon's Tyler Linderbaum has been an Iowa Hawkeye fan from an early age. Living about 15 minutes away from Iowa City, he will get the chance to take the field of the athletes he watched as a kid.
