4 Cascade players on All-RVC elite baseball team
State baseball tournament-bound Cascade placed four players on the All-River Valley Conference's Elite Team, it has been announced.
The Cougars, who are the number-one seed in Class 2A, had pitcher Trace Hoffman, infielder Derek Lieurance, outfielder Evan Simon and utility player Mitch Recker voted to the Elite Team by league coaches. Roamn Hummel of the Cougars is the RVC North Division Coach of the Year.
Others are on the Elite Team are Iowa City Regina pitcher Payton Raso and utility player Luke Gallagher and Monticello catcher Jacob Manternach, infielder Mason Newhard and outfielder David Gray
