Frac sand mining has many benefits

Your Feb. 16 editorial “Frac sand mining: Regulation decision should rest in local hands” was very informative and well done. I hope the county boards involved decide to allow frac sand mining.
I attended college at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and was able to witness the enormous positive impact frac sand mining brought to individuals and the broader economy.
Frac sand mining brings good jobs and many of the people who benefit from frac sand mining are farmers. While proper protections should be put in place, it is unfair to deny landowners the opportunity to sell their sand in order to provide for their families.
