Jerry Coblentz, 90, a longtime resident of Tiffin, died Monday, July 2, 2018.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018, at the Oakhill Cemetery in Tiffin. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until services on Saturday at the Grace United Methodist Church in Tiffin. Geraldine Mae Douglass was born June 9, 1928, in Iowa City, the daughter of August and Bertha (Douglass) Vermace. She married Joseph F. Thompson in the early 1940s, but he was killed in action during World War II in 1945. She married Christ Coblentz on Aug. 5, 1950. Jerry has worked hard for most of her life, many of those years in housekeeping in area motels.
Her family includes her children, Rodney Thompson, David Thompson, Hellen Coblentz, Arlene Schreiber (James), Katie Miller (Chester) and Everett Coblentz; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; and children, Mary Ellen Madden, Esther Coblentz, Shirley Gilbert, Dorothy Veseley, Amos, Ralph, Lloyd, Danny, DeWayne and Shane.
