Struggles facing seniors take away the joy

I notice that Mariannette Miller-Meeks was in Iowa City on April 11, exhorting seniors to be “joyful” as a way to promote a long and healthy life.
Would someone please tell Miller-Meeks that it's very hard to be joyful when you are facing the frailty of your elder years while the economy is in near-chaos and your government is systematically dismantling the safety net you once thought you could rely on?
