After reading the endorsement of Ken Rizer by The Gazette, we must respectfully disagree.
Rizer helped our governor to privatize our state Medicare program. The need for oversight to get managed care companies to fulfill their obligations to deserving Iowans was championed by Democrats like Liz Mathis. This is a major problem when patients can't see their doctors or get medications and when facilities are not paid or get reduced payments.
Molly Donahue is a strong woman with a voice that is especially needed in Des Moines. She is fearless and smart. People like us are who she will work for be it Medicaid, fully funding struggling schools or equal pay for equal work. You can trust that a vote for Donohue is a vote for all Iowans.
