Tjaden, Hulda E.
Hulda E. Tjaden, 96, former Springville resident, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at the Guttenberg Care Center. Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include daughters, Marjorie Turner of Somonauk, Ill., Mary (Dean) Hanna of Marion, Deloris (David) Tschantz of Guttenberg and Nancy Tjaden of Delhi; and son, Michael (Kelly) of Springville; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Tjaden; son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Arlene Tjaden; and son-in-law, Jerry Turner.
Hulda Tjaden was born Nov. 10, 1916, in Boulder Township, Linn County, the daughter of Fred and Rosa Butschi. She married Henry Tjaden on April 26, 1938, in Ryan, Iowa. Hulda was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Anamosa. She worked over 20 years at Cornell College in Mount Vernon.
She will be missed dearly by her family.
