Drowns, Cathryn Marie

Cathryn Marie Drowns, 53, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital after a sudden illness. Memorial Service: 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids, where the family will greet friends from 4 p.m. until service time.

Survivors include her husband, Michael; children, Stefanie Drowns of Cedar Rapids and Pamela Drowns of Cedar Rapids; brother, Donald Quist of East Moline, Ill.; sister, Phyllis Kellett of Davenport; and one grandchild, Jackson Janecek.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Maurice Quist.

On Dec. 24, 1958, Cathryn was born in Moline, Ill., daughter of Donald and Gloria Quist. She married Michael Dean Drowns on April 5, 1980, in Rock Island, Ill. Cathryn was a Pharmacy Tech at Walmart.

A memorial fund has been established in memory of Cathryn.
