Norland, Mary Jane
Mary Jane Norland, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, 86, of Scottsdale, Ariz., went to be with our Lord on May 17, 2011.
Mary is survived by her husband, Thor; daughter, Linda Romberg, and son, Steven Norland, both of Scottsdale; and two grandsons, Brian (Diana) Romberg and Justin Norland.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Lee and Jim; her parents, John B. Ryan and Mary T. Curley; and a brother, John (Bob) Ryan.
Mary was a devout Catholic, dedicated to her husband and family.
She graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1942, then attended Mount Mercy College, where she became a registered nurse in 1946. She married Thor Norland on Oct. 16, 1947. In 1960, they moved to Scottsdale, where Thor founded Norland Mattress Co.
