American Journalism Review reports on IowaWatch.com
Jun. 11, 2010 3:40 pm
American Journalism Review posted today (Friday, June 11) an online story about the IowaWatch.com investigative journalism efforts that are in the works. Here is a link to the AJR story.
IowaWatch.com comes from the new non-profit news service called the Iowa Center for Public Affairs Journalism that was started by Stephen Berry and Robert Gutsche Jr. in Iowa City. Berry is a University of Iowa journalism professor; Gutsche is a Ph.D. candidate in the UI journalism program.
The Gazette is a partner in the effort in Iowa. I blogged about this program a few weeks ago. Here is a link to that blog,
Non-profits like IowaWatch.com are able to display public affairs journalism that fills voids left by cutbacks in newsrooms across the country. Gazette editors are to meet next week to select some stories ideas to approach IowaWatch.com with for possible coverage.
