JAMES FOULKS Onslow James "Jim" W. Foulks, 71, of Onslow, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 14, 2014, at Unity Point Health-St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Friends and family may gather for a Remembrance Luncheon beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at Monmouth Community Center in Monmouth. Burial will be at a later date in St. Peter's Cemetery, Temple Hill. James William Foulks was born Oct. 21, 1942, in Anamosa, Iowa, to Clarence and Helen (Kelly) Foulks. He grew up in the Temple Hill area and was a 1961 graduate of St. Martin's High School in Cascade. He married Sharon Carr on Nov. 3, 1972, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Temple Hill. Jim was a hard worker and farmed the family farm while also working several factory jobs, including Clinton Engines, Caterpillar and most recently Energy Manufacturing in Monticello, where he retired as a CNC operator in 2006. Jim enjoyed camping, tinkering and "monkeying" around. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. Jim was a friend to all and loved by many. Those left to honor Jim's memory include his wife, Sharon Foulks of Onslow; daughters, Anita (Mac) Besler of Marion, Dianne (Brandon) Rivas of Marion and Linda (Adam) Windschitl of Missouri Valley, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Avary, Emery, Dante, Darius, Isabella, Caitlin and Audrey; a sister, Sarah Foulks of Temple Hill; and a brother, Bob Foulks of Tipton, as well as many cherished in-laws, nieces, nephews and close family friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Dick and Pat. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family has established a James W. Foulks Memorial Fund. The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Ma-quoketa is caring for the family. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.CarsonAndSon.com.
