Police said a Cedar Rapids man threatened his roommate with a knife early Tuesday morning during what he called a "very stressful night."
Devin Campbell, 18, was charged with one count of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and assault causing bodily injury after the altercation at 2046 North Towne Ct. NE, No. 6.
Campbell's roommate, Jeffery Ringold, 21, told police they argued around 12:30 a.m. about Internet use. Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said Campbell grabbed a kitchen knife, threatened Ringold and told him to get out of the apartment.
Police said Ringold grabbed Campbell's wrist and, in the process, cut his right palm. After a struggle, Ringold held Campbell down until police arrived. Another person was in the apartment at the time and called police, Hamblin said.
Campbell told police his girlfriend had broken up with him, and that he'd had a "very stressful night," according to the police report.
Ringold's injury was considered minor, police said.
