From Tom Kakert over at HawkeyeReport.com: Incoming freshman wide receiver Matt Marshall is gonzo, passing up the Hawkeyes for track and football and Arkansas. Marshall is an amazing track guy, state high hurdles champion or some such, so the move makes a lot of sense for him.
He accepted a scholarship offer to Iowa in early May and sent in some papers. Apparently, they weren't of the binding letter of intent variety.
That's why Adam Robinson, a Des Moines Lincoln running back, has been elevated from grayshirt, a mid-year recruit in January '09, to full scholarship beginning this fall.
After seeing Robinson play basketball a few times, I'm guessing he's a candidate at running back. Strong build and quicker than he is fast.
