Siepker, Leonard J.

Leonard J. Siepker, 71, of Marion, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The family will greet friends from 4 to

7 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Scripture Service beginning at 6:30 p.m. There also will be visitation one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Judy; mother, Hilaria; children, Daniel (Kristen) Siepker of Troy, Mich., and Christina (Terry) Best of Iowa City; grandchildren, Elizabeth Siepker, Lindsay Best, Leah Best, and Samuel Siepker; brothers, David (Caryl) Siepker of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Donald (Karol) Siepker of Albert City, and Gary (Carol) Siepker of Albert City; and sister, Rosemary (Greg) Miller of Honor, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his father, and brother, Daniel Siepker.

Leonard was born Dec. 25, 1938, in Carroll, the son of Nick and Hilaria (Krogman) Siepker. He married Judy Wennekamp on April 17, 1963, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Leonard was a Realtor for many years in the Marion area. He enjoyed traveling and playing cards. His greatest love was his family especially his grandkids. Leonard was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion.

A memorial fund has been established in Leonard's name.
