Cordier, Ruth V.
Ruth V. Cordier, 94, of Iowa City, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Paxton, Ill. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, where there will be visitation one hour before the services. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made in her memory to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church of Iowa City.

Ruth Virginia Cordier was born Nov. 8, 1918, in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of George and Carrie (Lindsay) Roop. She was united in marriage to Hubert Cordier on Aug. 3, 1940, in South Bend. Her husband, Hubert, was a professor in communications which brought them in 1968 to Iowa City, where he became associated with the university and also with WSUI-KSUI. Ruth too was associated with the university as an administrative assistant for a number of years. She was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church and PEO.
Her family includes her son, Gary Cordier and his wife, Kathy, of Rantool, Ill.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.
