Coralville man pleads guilty to possessing child porn

Christopher Alan Shira, 41, of Coralville, pleaded guilty Friday in U.S. Southern District Court to one count of possession of child pornography.
Shira possessed at least 10 images but fewer than 150 images between February and April 4, 2008, according to the plea agreement. The digital images were depictions involving minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
Shira faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
He was released Friday on a $100,000 unsecured bond pending sentencing, which is set for Jan. 6.
