Christopheron, Eloise A.
Eloise A. Christopherson, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died at the Hospice House of Mercy, Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012. Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Wesley Bruss. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her daughters, Patty (Mark) Fitzsimmons of Anamosa, and Kristina (Mark) Minnisquero of Dresden, Tenn.; sons, John R. Christopherson of Ackley, Michael R. Plummer of Cedar Rapids and Jerry (Joan) Markwell of Hiawatha; sisters, Natalie McClure of Ashville, N.C. and Marlene Leet of Colorado; t en grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Eloise was born Aug. 11, 1922 in Oakhurst, Okla., to Earl and Thelma Edwards. She married Robert Christopherson in Anamosa on Oct. 22, 1953. He died in 2010. Eloise began working after graduating from high school at Consolidated in San Diego, Calif., building B24 bombers. She later was employed by Collins Radio, retiring after 25 years. She was an avid gardener and loved sewing for her family but her primary focus was her family.
The family would like to thank the Hospice House of Mercy and her many friends for their loving support and compassionate care.
The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society.
