The Walk-through

-- I'm hearing WR Derrell Johnson-Koulianos is ready. Remember, he missed the Big Ten Network's broadcast with a sore hamstring. Right now, he's catching punts with Rogers, Robinson and Paki. Josh Brown and Keenan Davis are also practicing with this group.
-- RB Brandon Wegher is out there with this group, too.
-- WR Colin Sandeman is also dressed and with the punt returners. He's missed a ton of camp with a shaky hamstring.
-- Basically, every scholarship running back is dressed. Hmmm.
-- Amari Spievey, Tyler Sash and Micah Hyde are also catching punts. Hyde is very much in the plans.
-- The Press-Citizen's Andy Hamilton is collecting preseason predictions for Iowa' leaders. I have a special pick in there for my friends at BHGP. I asked for him to e-mail me the list. I'll post when he does.
-- I for some reason agreed to do a Big Ten fantasy team. I don't have a link here, but more astute internetters will be able to find it on CBS Sportsline. I know I picked Moeaki, Keenan, Murray and Iowa D. I got in late and some joke picked Kafka as my QB, which, oddly, is fitting for me. I picked Stanzi. I'll search for a link.
-- Iowa radio is way behind in its breaks. They're actually going to do a field conditions report. It must be sponsored because, you know, FieldTurf.
-- Almost forgot, Iowa AD Gary Barta spent seven years in administration at UNI.
-- Almost time for team in the pregame. Will post as many starters as I see.
-- Stanzi, Eubanks, Paki, McNutt, Dace, Stross, Moeaki, Morse, Bulaga, Gettis and Doering.
-- Clayborn, Binns, Ballard, Klug, Angerer, Hunter, Edds, Sash, Greenwood, Spievey and Castillo.
-- I'm seeing quite a bit of purple out there. Way to represent, U-Knee (Marc Morehouse UNI '89).
-- I'm an alumnus, but I'm fully sticking by 41-7, especially with UNI WR Josh Collins' season-ending ACL.
-- Jewel has his ACL surgery on Friday. Ferentz reports that it went well and he's in good spirits.
-- Castillo starts, with Lowe and Hyde behind.
-- KF: Might be more freshman later but the three for sures are Keenan, Wegher and Hyde. Wegher had camp injury but "has come on strong and done great things.
-- KF talking Jayme Murphy on the radio. It sucks that his career is over. I'm from DBQ. DBQ Hawkeyes mean a lot to the community. Plus, Jayme is a great kid. He'll be successful in everything he does.
-- Text from Greg, longtime "On Iowa" reader. He's neck-deep in tailgate, 10 beers in. He's not driving ICPD!!!
-- I think BHGP is going to photoshop me in an unflattering way. I throw myself at their mercy.
-- I hear "Back in Black." Join us at the live chat here, http://thegazette.com/blogs/on-iowa/2009/09/03/can-we-talk.
-- As Wild Bill in "Deadwood" said, "Listen to the thunder."
