Illinois man arrested with six pounds of marijuana in Iowa City

UPDATE: An Illinois man was arrested in Iowa City Wednesday night after police found him with a large quantity of marijuana.

According to a criminal complain, police stopped Brett Ian Fox, 18, of Highland Park, Ill. for a traffic violation around 7 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Church and Dodge streets in Iowa City. A drug detection dog alerted officers to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.

After searching the vehicle, police allegedly found six pounds of marijuana. Police said Fox admitted he was delivering the marijuana to two different people in Iowa City.

Police also allegedly found Fox to be in possession of Adderall tablets without a prescription.

Fox was taken to the Johnson County Jail and charged with two controlled substance violations, one of them being with intent to deliver, and a tax stamp violation.
