CORALVILLE - Coralville police Sgt. Tim Vest said Wednesday investigators are still working to determine what caused an SUV to collide into the side of a building after the Hawkeye football game Saturday night.
Some time after 9 p.m. Saturday, James Kerkove, 60, was northbound on the 300 block of First Avenue in Coralville when he crashed his 2004 Jeep Cherokee into Randy's Flooring Outlet, at 306 First Ave.
Kerkove was the sole occupant in the SUV and was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals Saturday with injuries that Vest declined to describe.
The vehicle, however, was reported as a total loss, and Randy's Flooring Outlet said the building sustained an estimated $10 thousand worth of damage, Vest said.
Coralville police continue to investigate the cause of a single-vehicle crash that landed a Jeep Cherokee into the side of Randy's Carpet & Interiors in Coralville. (Kathleen Serino/SourceMedia Group News)
