Bush, Elwin Eugene

Elwin Eugene Bush, 63, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013, at the Missouri Valley Hospital, with his sister, Donna by his side as well as many of his caregivers from Memory Lane.

Elwin was born Nov. 8, 1949, in Grinnell, Iowa, to Elwin M. and Rosa Hobelsberger Bush and spent his early years in Brooklyn, Iowa. Elwin worked in Council Bluffs at VODEC and has spent this past year at Memory Lane at Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley. Elwin loved his time at Memory Lane and was truly loved by his caregivers. Many of them sat with him in his final days, even on their days off.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Karl Bush on Dec. 26, 2012.

Survivors include his sister, Donna Bush of Omaha; sister-in-law, Judy Bush of Cedar Rapids; nephews, Mike and David Bush; and cousins, Fay Walker, Kim Hooper and Donald Bush.

Visitation for Elwin will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Celebration of life services at 11 a.m. Friday, all at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel, Council Bluffs. Luncheon and fellowship will follow at the Walnut Hill Reception Center. Interment will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at IOOF Cemetery in Brooklyn, Iowa.

Memorials are suggested to Vocational Development Center-VODEC and Memory Lane at Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
