Krumrey, John Leslie
John Leslie and LaWanda lived in Belleville, Ill., for 57 years before moving to Cedar Rapids in 2002. He worked as a shale miner and for the Belleville School District. John Leslie was a charter member of the Belleville First Church of the Nazarene and a member of Oakland Church of the Nazarene.
John Leslie was always happy and upbeat; he never had a bad day. He loved to make people smile and laugh with a joke or a lighthearted moment. John Leslie loved everyone, especially children. He was a “kid magnet” and he was every child's grandpa.
John Leslie loved the Lord and was a faithful servant his entire life. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them. He was an avid lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan. We miss him greatly, but we are comforted to know on April 19th he celebrated his 90th birthday in heaven and he is rejoicing eternally with his Lord.
A memorial fund has been established.
