Local celebrities should be held accountable

I am a 27-year-old who was born and raised in Cedar Rapids. I thoroughly support the efforts of Cedar Rapids to bring more entertainment and family activities to rejuvenate our city. There seems to be one organization that repeatedly has been brought to the spotlight for acts of violence and disrespect to the citizens of our city: the Titans football team.
A fight happened Saturday outside The Vault bar, where a “CR Titans” truck was parked out front. At closing, a fight broke out that involved some Titans players assaulting a group celebrating a birthday. This resulted in one individual being hospitalized, but I did not see one Titan player taken into custody, when there were eyewitnesses who saw them assault the man.
When attempting to post information regarding this incident on the Titans Facebook page and Twitter - all who posted were blocked or posts were deleted almost immediately. At what point do we hold these so-called local celebrities accountable for their actions? I think it's time for the owners and coaches to step up and set measures to ensure that this behavior is stopped and those responsible are held accountable. These players represent our city and carry our name on their shirts/jerseys. I would prefer they were looked at more like role models than people who are given “passes” on their less than desirable actions.
