Tigan, David Eugene
David Eugene Tigan, 62, of Mendota Heights, Minn., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011 in his home. Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, St. Mark's Catholic Church, 2001 Dayton Ave., St. Paul, Minn. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at O'Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home, 575 S. Snelling Ave., St. Paul, Minn. 55118.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Miller) Tigan; his mother, Claire Tigan of Anamosa; children, Elizabeth (Aaron), Annie (Dan), Matthew (Michel), Paul (Carla), Katherine and Jane; a brother, John (Leigh) of Marion; a sister, Mary (Don); and many loving relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, John David Tigan; and two sisters, Connie Roach and Nancy Waite.
David was admired and respected for his faithfulness to God and his devotion as a loving husband and father. He will be remembered as an accomplished photographer, an avid bird hunter and for his many creative projects. He graduated from the University of Iowa, worked for the City of North St. Paul for 32 years, and was admired by his colleagues for his work ethic and dedication to the citizens.
He was a servant to all and found great joy in teaching his children and grandchildren to love God and Him in all things. He always led the prayer.
