James Oliver Williams, 72, of Marion, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life: 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at Maranatha Bible Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Aaron Telecky. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 20, at the church in Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; daughter, Tammy (Ted) Maashoff of California; son, Kenny (Celia) Williams of Cedar Rapids; stepchildren, Sandra (Vern) Weaver of Ari-zona, Ron (Kim) Trembly of Chariton, Joy (Steve) Tipton of Marion, Jerry (Paula) Seeman of Marion, Jeff Seeman of Cedar Rapids, Allen Seeman of Iowa and David Jr. (Lyn) Seeman of Sumner; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. He also is survived by his sister, Betty Johnson of Crossett, Ark.; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Jim was born Feb. 19, 1942, in Warren, Ark., the son of Fred and Doshie (Temples) Williams. He married Jean Elkins and together they had two children and later divorced. He then married Donna Holmes on May 22, 2004, at Maranatha Bible Church in Cedar Rapids, where they both were members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Jack, Jerry, Don and Bill.
