Huntoon, Charles J.
Charles J. Huntoon, 64, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed while at his home in Venice, Fla., with his family by his side.

He plied his trade as a computer programmer and was employed by the US Army, Rockwell International, Tandem and eventually formed his own company, Teletec Solutions.
In retirement, he enjoyed working as a substitute teacher, stealing cookies from his grandkids, jet setting around the globe, adventuring in his RV, watching and playing golf, visiting family and friends and relaxing on the lanai with the sun setting on the Gulf of Mexico.
Survivors include his wife, Mary L. Huntoon; two sons, Chris (Marcy) of Fairfax, Va., and Craig (Jennifer) of Newnan, Ga.; five grandchildren, Christopher, Airica, Mark, John and Benjamin; two brothers, William of Marion, and Michael of Santa Rosa, Calif.; and four sisters, Margaret Arsenaux of Venice, Fla., Joanne Ryan-Smith of Marion, Diane Holst of Cedar Rapids, and Jeanenne Pivin of McKinney, Texas.
A funeral service with military honors was held Oct. 13 at the Sarasota National Cemetery. Farley Funeral Home in Venice, Fla., handled the arrangements.
