Jeffords, Rollie
Rollie Jeffords, 73, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Aug. 17, 2013. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Interment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. Visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Rollie was born July 17, 1940, in Iowa City, to Floyd and Dorothy (Miner) Jeffords. He attended Wilson High School and was part of the first graduating class at Jefferson High School in 1958. He served in the Army from 1963-1965. He was employed by Penick & Ford for many years before joining General Mills and retiring in 2003.
Rollie is survived by his wife, Rosemary; sons Eric, wife Jennifer and their children, Jake Roland, Evan, Eris and Jasper, and Brian, wife Tracey and their children, Camryn and Connor; brother Ben, wife Pat; uncle Dick, wife Lois Miner; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rollie was a good bowler and enjoyed playing in softball leagues. He enjoyed spending time at his cottage on the Wapsi.
Friends are encouraged to give memorial donations to Cedar Valley Humane Society.
