Hawk Alert issued for strong-armed robbery in Old Capitol Town Center

Iowa City authorities are responding to a strong-armed robbery in the Old Capitol Town Center that reportedly occurred about 9:45 a.m.
The UI issued a Hawk Alert at 10:17 reporting the robbery occurred a half hour earlier, and the suspect was last seen wearing a winter hat, dark coat, khaki pants and dark shoes. He was last seen heading east on Washington Street, according to the Hawk Alert.
The suspect did not brandish a weapon during the robbery, police reported.
Iowa City police were talking with a woman outside Gamers inside the town center at 10:30 a.m. There is no indication the robbery was connected to the store.
