College MBB Round up: Coe tops Simpson 66-44

Coe pulled away in the second half for a 66-44 victory over Simpson in an Iowa Conference opener Wednesday night at Eby Fieldhouse in Cedar Rapids.
Coe (7-5), which led 28-22 at intermission, shot 50 percent from distance (8 of 16).
JT Vanderhaar led Coe in scoring with 13 points. Matt Daoust pitched in with 12, Jacob Timm 11.
Simpson (5-7) didn't have a scorer reach double figures.
KIRKWOOD 74, MARSHALLTOWN 64
- Jordan Ashton scored 21 points and Joe Tagarelli contributed 17 in Kirkwood's victory at Johnson Hall in Cedar Rapids.
The Eagles (12-3) trailed 34-22 at halftime but turned it around with a 52-point second half. The Eagles shot 28.6 percent in the first 20 minutes, then 62.5 percent (15 of 24) after the break.
Matthew Lassen added 12 points for Kirkwood, Hunter Rhodes 10.
Marshalltown (16-4) got 21 points from Mike Rodriquez.
MOUNT MERCY 74, CLARKE 56
- No. 19 Mount Mercy (13-3) opened its Midwest Collegiate Conference schedule with the win at Dubuque.
The Mustangs led just 35-30 at halftime but put it away with a strong second half.
Dondre Osborne scored 14 points, Alex Houston and Kyle Lamaak 13 apiece, and James Boonstoppel 10 for Mount Mercy. Ben Struss recorded 12 rebounds.
WARTBURG 67, LUTHER 57
- Wartburg led by three points at the half and expanded that margin in an Iowa Conference opener at Waverly.
Aaron Huber scored 18 points for Luther.
KNOX 73, CORNELL 60
- The Rams dipped to 2-10 and 1-6 in the Midwest Conference with the loss at Galesburg, Ill.
Corey Davis scored 30 points for Cornell.
