As Iowans, we have a unique opportunity to help choose the next president of the United States and set the stage for the issues which will be discussed throughout the campaign. One of the issues which has been grabbing headlines around the world is Israel. With the current administration and the new Israeli government leaning hard right, many American citizens are supporting Israel unconditionally less and less. And we're asking questions of the twenty presidential candidates both in Iowa and across the country.
Would you like to know more about the Israel of today? Do you understand why many are changing their minds? Iowans for Palestine, Concerned Iowans for Middle East Peace, Veterans for Peace, and the UI Center for Human Rights are bringing Israeli journalist Amira Hass to Iowa City to discuss the Israeli Nation State Law, which makes Israel the state of the Jewish people and, to quote their President Benjamin Netanyahu, 'nobody else.”
Hass will be at the Iowa City Public Library, Meeting Room A, on May 6 at 7 p.m. For more information please contact Pat Minor at patminor51@gmail.com.
