Richardson, Eugene
Eugene Richardson, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, July 2, 2012, at Living Center East. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Shiloh Cemetery, Hiawatha, by the Rev. Carroll Brown. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Survivors include four sons, Douglas Richardson of Davenport, Curtis Richardson of Cedar Rapids, Ron (Rhonda) Richardson of Springville and Randall (Rachel) Richardson of Punta Gorda, Fla.; a sister, Vergie (Jack) of New Mexico; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth.
Gene was born Oct. 11, 1930, in Coggon, Iowa. He married Elizabeth Johnson in Cedar Rapids on Oct. 3, 1959. She died in 2004. He was employed by Collins Radio and then Iowa Manufacturing for many years and then owned and operated Hiawatha Trailer Sales for over 40 years.
Gene loved following the Iowa Hawkeyes and watching golfing events on the weekends.
