MARY LESNIAK
North Liberty
Mary E. Lesniak,
beloved wife of Caesar, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014, at her home in North Liberty, Iowa. She spent her final days surrounded by her family.
Mary is survived by her loving and caring husband of 67 years, Caesar; her sister, Leona Milbourn of Arkansas; her children, Linda (Chuck) Wortman of Swisher, Peggy Ashby of North Liberty, Marsha Zuckert of Lake in the Hills, Ill., and Mark (Jen) Lesniak of Elk Grove Village, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; in addition to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Neta McCully; her brothers, Al, Dick and Don; and her sister,
Dorothy.
Mary devoted her entire life to the care and well-being of her family. There was nothing more important to her than the happiness of those she loved. She always put the needs of others in front of her own. Her great-grandson said it best when he told her, "You are the person that taught me how to love and that love carries throughout the family." The youngest member of the family, one of her great-granddaughters, said on Saturday, "You are not just my great-grandma, you are a GREAT grandma!" She will be greatly missed and always loved by her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Grove Memorial Chapel, in Elk Grove Village, Ill., on Saturday, March 29. Please contact the chapel at (847) 640-0566 for details. A private burial will be held for the family.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mary's name to Iowa City Hospice, (319) 351-5665, for their excellent care and support given during these last few months.
