Luensman, Robert
Robert Luensman, 58, did Saturday, March 27, 2010, at his home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello, with interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The Rev. Keith Birch will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where a parish vigil service will be held at 7 p.m.

Surviving are his wife, Sandy; five children, Lucas (Brenda Harried) Madison, Wis., and Charles, Dominic (Jen) and Ryan (Meleah) and Casandra (Jamie Bickford), all of Monticello; six grandchildren, Chase, Tyler, Jonah, Kain, Tait and Lanie; and three brothers, Jack (Judy), Phoenix, Ariz., Ron, Cedar Rapids, and Tom (Kathy) Monticello.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Steven, James and Donald.
Robert Dean Luensman was born June 20, 1951, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Earl and Maxine Nordman Luensman. He received his education at Sacred Heart Catholic School and spent one year at Seminary School in Chicago. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War. Following his discharge in November 1971, he returned to Monticello, where he worked at Franklin Equipment. Bob married Sandra Schaeffer on June 28, 1975, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Bob worked as a certified welder at FMC in Cedar Rapids. He returned to school and became a substance abuse counselor in 1981. He was later employed at International Ingredients in Monticello.
Bob taught CCD at Sacred Heart Parish. He was a Cub Scout leader and coached Little League. He was a friend of Bill for the past 30 years.
