Lewis, Irene May
Irene May Lewis, born May 1, 1930, Earlville, Iowa. Deceased June 15, 2013, at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital, Whittier, Calif., at age 83.
She was a long time resident of Whittier, Calif., but hailed from Cedar Rapids which she tried to visit every year or so.
Irene experienced a spontaneous massive cerebral hemorrhage and nine days later passed away in the presence of her loving and devoted family and friends, to the awaiting arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus.
At the time of her retirement she was an office manager for Cincinnati Milicron.
Irene's second home was Morningstar Christian Chapel. She was a social person and always concerned for others and their needs. In addition, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild were uppermost in her life.
Her constant companions were canine children, Shadow and Meadow.
She precedes in death by her sister, Kay Luster of Cincinnati, Ohio; as well as children, Sharon Gass of Tennessee, Lezli Brown of Whittier, Calif., Linda Soto of North Las Vegas, Nev., Cathy Lewis of Boston, Mass., Cindy Scholten of San Jacinto, Calif., Ted Lewis of Roanoke, Va. and Bonnie Wright of Whittier, Calif.
Irene's grandchildren include Michelle, Misti, Debbie, Kathleen, Al, Don, Micheal, Alexis and Matthew.
Great-grandchildren are Monique, Marissa, Malorie, Madison, Makenzi, Travis, Lucca, Ted, Dylan, Griffin, Devin, Jordan, Tyler, Riley, Tabetha, Sean, Jeremy and Gianni.
And Abby Rose, the one and only great-great-greatgrandchild of Irene's.
Services were held June 20, 2013 at Rose Hills in Whittier, Calif.
In lieu of flowers, we recommend donations to Wounded Warriors, one of Irene's favorite causes.
