Muntz, Milo D.
Milo D. Muntz, 78, of Marion, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, May 16, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include his children, Kathi (Ron) Weber of Burlington, Rhonda (Tim) Sheehan of Marion and Frankie (Jennifer) Muntz of Vancouver, Wash.; grandchildren, Corey (Wendy) Peters of Danville, Iowa, Jessie (Brandon) Ray of Houston, Texas, Rachel Sheehan of Cedar Rapids, Jebadiah and Bailey Muntz of Vancouver, Wash.; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary and Elizabeth; a brother, James (Zelma) Muntz of Batavia, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; and his two special friends, Kinnick and Gracie.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Milo was born June 22, 1932, the son of Frankie and Marjorie (Russell) Muntz, in Bonaparte, Iowa. He graduated from Bonaparte High School. Milo married Dorothy Worrell on Aug. 12, 1955, in Fort Madison. He worked at Hy-Vee for 36 years. He started with Hy-Vee in Fort Madison and transferred to Marion and then to Windom, Minn. He was then transferred to the Mount Vernon Road Hy-Vee in Cedar Rapids, where he retired. After retiring, he worked part-time for Kraft Foods.
Milo served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed woodworking and traveling.
Milo was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.
