Stanley, Donald Charles
Donald Charles Stanley, 86, a resident of Crestview Acres, Marion, died Sunday, June 6, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Per Donald's wishes, there will be no services held. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include a sister, Odette Welton of Marion; and seven nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Donald was born March 25, 1924, the son of Charles T. and Mary L. (Velthoff) Stanley, in Solon, Iowa. He joined the Army in 1942 and served in Europe during World War II. Donald had worked for many years as a semi driver, house painter and cabdriver. He lived for many years in California and then returned to Iowa, and had resided for the last several years at Crestview Acres Care Center in Marion.
