Letter: Traveler wrong to blame Cedar Rapids

Letters such as that by Tom Lindborg from Minnesota ('Traveler upset with C.R. traffic cameras,” June 15) are so puzzling to me.

He blames the City of Cedar Rapids for 'fleecing” him and his wife because they chose not to obey the speed limit. Basically, his letter says, 'we will never visit your city again because you expect us to obey the law.” He writes that, had his wife known she was getting ticketed by an 'actual officer,” she would have slowed down the next time she went through - suggesting that her speeding was certainly intentional. If these visitors got three tickets in the course of their short visit, they must have consistently been exceeding the speed limit by 12 or more miles per hour. Speed limits are clearly marked along Interstate 380.

It is interesting to think that he expects his soccer association will no longer consider travel to Cedar Rapids because he and his wife chose to break the law. I wonder if the association will see things his way?
