Triem, James R.
James R. Triem, 92, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, May 7, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha after a short illness. Memorial Mass: 10:30 a. m. n Wednesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Inurnment: St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Clermont. The Cremation Society of Eastern-Central- Western Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his son, David of Cedar Rapids; and one niece, Fayne Szabo of Clarion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a daughter.
Jim was born July 8, 1917, in Clermont, the son of Ralph and Matilda Conner Triem. He married Marjorie Bauman on Aug. 24, 1940, in Clermont. She died in 1996. Jim had many jobs but retired as a welder from Altorfer Manufacturing after many years of service.
He was an outdoor enthusiast and a former member of the Izaak Walton League, Otter Creek Gun Club and Bass Masters of Cedar Rapids.
A memorial fund has been established in Jim's name.
