Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding a Monona man wanted on drug and child endangerment charges.
According to an Iowa Department of Public Safety news release, the Monona Police Department, Clayton County Sheriff's Office and Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are searching for Troy A. Laufenberg. Laufenberg faces charges of child endangerment, possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The charges stem from a July 19 incident during which police were called to Laufenberg's home for a report of an injured child. The child remains hospitalized, police said.
DCI Special Agent Mike Krapfl admitted that state investigators typically don't get involved with run of the mill child endangerment or drug cases, but couldn't say what about this case required their assistance.
“We don't have a lot of information to release,” Krapfl said. “We're still conducting an investigation.”
Anyone with information on Laufenberg's whereabouts, which are currently unknown, is asked to call Krapfl at 563-599-4239.
Krapfl said Laufenberg is believed to have friends and family in the Dubuque area.
