Fruehling, Judy A.
Judy A. Fruehling, 64, of Mount Vernon, died Nov. 19, 2009, in her home following a 30-year battle with MS, and a recent battle with cancer. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call after
10 a.m. Friday at the Chapel of Memories. Chaplain Tammy Buseman of Mercy Hospice will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving is her husband, Eldon; children, Denise A. Carpenter and husband Terry of Anamosa, and Howard E. and wife Tia of Center Point; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Hailey; special family friend, Tony Schultz; sisters, Connie Bender and husband Jerry of Cummings, Ga., Sharon Porch and husband Harry of Roswell, Ga., Debbie Simonsen and husband Roy of Alpharetta, Ga., and Billie Jo Graham of Jeffersonville, Ind.; her beloved dog, Princess; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a nephew, Derek.
Judy Ann Fruehling was born Jan. 12, 1945, in Manchester, the daughter of Howard J. & Novalean (Alderson) Glass. She was united in marriage to Eldon W. Fruehling on June 27, 1964, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. She and Eldon owned and operated Glass Trucking for several years. In recent years she enjoyed traveling over the road with Eldon. She enjoyed time spent at the cabin in North Buena Vista. Her greatest enjoyment was time spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many who will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Judy's name may be made to Hospice of Mercy.
