Jan. 23, 2012 11:25 am
A 30-year-old Coralville man was arrested early this morning after an officer caught him pushing another vehicle with his Cadillac Deville down the middle of the road.
Carl Carter Jr. was arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated after an officer spotted him just after 2 a.m. pushing another car with his Deville in the 600 block of Fourth Avenue in Coralville, according to a complaint from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.
He was driving “left of center,” when an officer stopped him, and Carter had an odor of alcohol on his breath. He failed sobriety tests and provided a breath sample showing he had a blood alcohol concentration of .178, according to the complaint.
He admitted to drinking beer and taking hydrocodone before driving that night, officers reported.
