Remember, in 2020, we must ‘hire’ better

A pliable electorate, starry-eyed in search of bombast or dynasty, foisted upon us two fundamentally flawed presidential candidates in 2016. And we picked one, so here we are.
We must 'hire” better next time, judged against a complement of sound competencies for a presidential candidate. No more 'likability” contests. No more favor of entertainment value. No more beauty pageants.
Let us assess candidates for real leadership in complex situations, acumen in geopolitical affairs, demonstrated problem-solving, and demonstrated understanding of constitutional concepts.
If we don't, then we, as a citizenry, are to blame.
